“I am an infectious diseases physician with a specific interest in the care of people with HIV, Hepatitis C, and bacterial infections related to injection drug use. I also spend some time working with our clinic’s addiction specialist to help manage opioid use disorder for a subset of patients. My research is focused on developing and rigorously evaluating creative strategies to improve access to and quality of care for undertreated populations facing a multitude of different barriers such as personal circumstances, financial or transportation issues, as well as stigma, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
Most of my work with the PositiveLinks team is centered on adapting our platform for other contexts and conditions using implementation science methods, which allow us to study implementation processes in different practice settings to ensure the program is disseminated in a fashion that can be realistically taken up and sustained by patients and providers, and ultimately improve patients’ health and agency over their own treatment.”
